The first phase of the project which lasted five weeks was carried out in two locations, within Kubwa Abuja. The project had a total of 92 participants that ranged from Primary 4 to Junior Secondary School 3.

Regardless of their classes, students were taught the basics of mathematics to attain a level of proficiency in the subject that goes beyond their class levels in their various schools. As such, all students were taught using the same curriculum, and stronger pupils were given extra work to hone their skills.

Some of the key highlights of the project are:

1. TED Talks
2. Use of teaching aids to enhance comprehension.
3. Engagement in extracurricular activities (games).

Pre-assessments were administered to identify the level of strengths and areas of weakness of the students. Post assessments were administered to validate the level of improvements of the students, and make necessary recommendations. The next phase will commence in October 2023.
