      Maths Hotspot

      Our Story

The fear of mathematics lives rent-free in the heart of an average student and this huge problem has contributed to the negative gaps in the educational sector. It is very disappointing to note that the performance of students in the subject at both internal and external examinations has remained constantly poor and the trend of students’ performance has been on the decline; hence the birth of the MATHS HOTSPOT initiative.

      About the Project

The MATHS HOTSPOT project is an initiative by the organization to specifically target students with difficulties in mathematics and improve their performances through intensive coaching classes.
      The project is aimed at:

      • building up students in their knowledge of mathematics,
      • helping students overcome their fear of the subject and
      • helping them develop a keener interest and a better aptitude towards the said subject.

The project will be carried out in batches. Students will be grouped into cohorts and will be followed up with over a period of time to ensure continuity and full assimilation of what has been taught. At the end of every batch, we expect that beneficiaries would have been equipped with all relevant capacities needed to independently perform mathematical calculations SEAMLESSLY, ACCURATELY, and TIMELY.

      3. I learned a lot during the project, and I look forward to seeing the Maths Hotspot team again.
      4. I am happy to have been a part of the project, now I can divide large numbers using the long division method.
      5. I learned a lot from the lessons. I want them to come again to our community.
      6. I enjoyed the company of the teachers.
      7. My holiday was a time well spent, thank you Care Ville Foundation.

      Notes from the Parents

      1. My kids came to Abuja for the holidays and I am glad that it was a time well spent.
      2. Initially, when the holidays started, we were concerned about having to keep the kids at home without going for lessons (due to some financial constraints). But when I was informed about the project, we were happy and the kids were so excited about it, it was a big relief.
      3. My daughter was always excited whenever she was leaving home for the lesson, she learned a lot.
